het is me niet precies duidelijk wat er in frituurolie zit maar bij het proces om de olie te verkrijgen komen heel wat chemicalien kijken:
bv.Step 1: Find some “canola seeds.” Oh wait, they don’t exist. Canola oil is actually made from a hybrid version of the rapeseed… most likely genetically modified and heavily treated with pesticides.
Step 2: Heat the rapeseeds at unnaturally high temperatures so that they oxidize and are rancid before you ever buy them.
Step 3: Process with a petroleum solvent to extract the oils.
Step 4: Heat some more and add some acid to remove any nasty wax solids that formed during the first processing.
Step 5: Treat the oil with more chemicals to improve the color.
Step 6: Deodorize the oil to mask the horrific smell from the chemical processing.

Dus wellicht is 'plantaardig' helemaal niet zo 'sustainable' en kan Solazyme het zonder al die bewerkingsstappen...= dus meer 'sustainable'.

Lameraaien, je favoriete scene zal ongetwijfeld die met the Black Knight zijn. Komen we stiekem toch weer een beetje on topic.
'The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou' ken ik niet, ga'k zeker eens bekijken.

Zit zelf (nog) niet in SZYM, vind het wel de moeite waard maar neem pas positie indien deze uitbreekt boven de $15. Verder zit ik nog in POET en GTAT. Deze laatste deels aangekocht met de winst uit PLUG.

As a result of the product's inherent characteristics, drillers have shown that they are able to increase their rate of penetration and directional control. According to a white paper presented at the 2014 American Association of Drilling Engineers Fluids Technical Conference, Solazyme showed it was able to improve rate of penetration and torque in two separate examples. In a well at the Denver-Julesburg Basin, the company improved the drillers rate of penetration by 216% during a difficult lateral section of a horizontal well. At a well at the Heath Basin, the company improved the overall stability of the wellbore while also reducing torque by 11% overall.

The ultimate benefit of this product comes down to cost savings and an improvement to the overall operation efficiency. In one case study in the Permian Basin cited on the product's website found here, Encapso helped to drill the difficult curve section of a horizontal well a whole 5 days faster than a control. It also helped to reduce downtime by 62% while drilling 654 feet further in 1.5 days less time than a control well. Such advances can prove critical to drillers when the average time to drill a well is 12 to 30 days in the Permian Basin according to the article found here.

The expansion provides for funded product development, as well as key terms for a multi-year supply agreement targeting annual supply of up to 10,000 MT of renewable Tailored™ algal oils pending successful product development.
