Minder nieuwe auto's verkocht in april

AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--In de maand april van dit jaar zijn in totaal 27.148 nieuwe personenauto's op kenteken gezet. Dat is een daling van 4% ten opzichte van dezelfde maand in 2014, blijkt vrijdag uit cijfers van RAI Vereniging, BOVAG en Centraal Bureau Mobiliteit Informatie.

In de eerste vier maanden van dit jaar steeg het aantal verkochte nieuwe auto's echter met 1,2% tot 136.894 stuks.

De vijf best verkochte merken waren in april Volkswagen met 3.312 auto's en een marktaandeel van 12,2%, Peugeot (2.394/8,8%), Renault (2.233/8,2%), Ford (1.925/7,1%) en Opel (1.774/6,5%).

'Dodelijk gif in vliegtuigen dat hersenen aantast'

Bij de luchtverversing in vliegtuigen komt een zenuwgas vrij dat hersenschade kan veroorzaken bij de inzittenden. Dat hebben onderzoekers van het AMC in Amsterdam vastgesteld, meldt De Telegraaf vandaag. Ze publiceren de resultaten binnenkort in het gezaghebbende blad Brain Imaging & Behavior.

Alle typen vliegtuigen, met uitzondering van de Boeing 787 Dreamliner, zouden dezelfde luchtverversingstechniek gebruiken, die de witte stof in de hersenen kan aantasten. Beschadiging van die stof leidt onder meer tot MS en alzheimer.

,,We hebben Nederlandse piloten en cabinepersoneel met ziekteverschijnselen onderzocht met autocoureurs als controlegroep. Veel vliegers hebben aantoonbaar beschadiging van de witte stof in de hersenen", zegt dokter Michel Mulder tegen De Telegraaf.

De luchtvaart houdt het probleem volgens de onderzoekers stil uit angst voor miljardenclaims.

Inflatie loopt verder op in Nederland - CBS

AMSTERDAM (Dow Jones)--De Nederlandse inflatie is in april gestegen naar 0,6%, meldt het Centraal Bureau voor de Statistiek donderdag.

In maart kwam de inflatie uit op 0,4%. Sinds februari is de inflatie iedere maand met 0,2 procentpunt gestegen, stelt het statistiekbureau.

Volgens de Europees geharmoniseerde prijsindex (HICP) nam de inflatie met 0,3 procentpunt toe tot 0,0% in april ten opzichte van maart.

Vooral door duurdere telefoontoestellen nam de inflatie toe volgens het CBS. Er werden meer modellen verkocht tegen een hogere prijs. Ook de ontwikkeling van de prijzen voor voedingsmiddelen wogen mee. Hoewel deze ten opzichte van april in 2014 gemiddeld lager lagen, waas de daling in maart een stuk groter.

De kerninflatie, waar de prijzen van energie en voeding niet in zijn meegenomen, steeg in april met 0,1% procentpunt naar 1,1%.
