Ik krijg net bericht dat er een bod gedaan is van 7% op de Lehman Brothers UK Cap Fund 2005 door Scalene Funding.
Dit bod is vele malen hoger dan het bod van Deutsche Bank...!!

Omdat grote beleggers alles willen opkopen, heb ik maar besloten om niet aan te melden, in afwachting van wellicht zeer positieve ontwikkelingen. Mijn kostprijs was bijna niks.
Lehman Brothers UK heeft een groot probleem, nl. te veel geld in kas...!!

NEW YORK (ANP/AFP) - De boedel van de failliete Amerikaanse bank Lehman Brothers moet 2,4 miljard dollar neertellen als compensatie voor de rol van de bank in de hypotheekcrisis van 2008. Dat heeft een rechter in de Verenigde Staten bepaald. Het bedrag is een stuk lager dan de 11,4 miljard dollar waar sommige hedgefondsen in de zaak op uit waren.

Het gaat om de duizenden gesecuritiseerde hypotheekleningen die Lehman Brothers voor 2008 aan de man bracht en waarbij later allemaal problemen aan het licht kwamen. Het gedoe met de rommelhypotheken leidde ook tot de ondergang Lehman Brothers zelf, wat weer voor een omvangrijke crisis binnen het mondiale financiële systeem zorgde.

De rechtszaak over deze vergoeding was erg ingewikkeld. Uiteindelijk lukte het ook niet om een goede nieuwe inschatting te maken van de waarde van alle ingediende claims. Daarom is bij het bepalen van het bedrag uiteindelijk teruggegrepen op een oudere schatting door institutionele beleggers.

Fight over Lehman Brothers’ mortgage claims finally over

After 10 years, the fight over Lehman Brothers’ mortgage claims is over.

In a final dispute over the defunct bank’s residential mortgage-backed securities, a Manhattan bankruptcy court judge dealt a group of mostly hedge funds a whopping defeat.

Judge Shelley Chapman ruled Thursday, after a 22-day trial, that the hedge funds were entitled to about $2.4 billion from Dick Fuld’s bank — far less than the $11.4 billion they sought at trial and the $37 billion they had first claimed they were due, according to Bloomberg News.

Trustees for the RMBS holders failed to meet a “burden of proof” to show Lehman breaches on the 72,000 mortgages, Chapman ruled.

Among the funds suing Lehman are BlueMountain Capital, a major credit investor, which is run by Chief Investment Officer Andrew Feldstein.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. (“LBHI”), as Plan Administrator, announced today in a court filing the percentage recovery that will be distributed on April 5, 2018 to holders of allowed claims against LBHI and its various affiliated Debtors (collectively, “Lehman”).

Lehman’s aggregate fifteenth distribution to unsecured creditors pursuant to its confirmed chapter 11 plan will total approximately $2.6 billion. This distribution includes (1) $2.3 billion of payments on account of third-party claims, which includes non-controlled affiliate claims, and (2) $0.4 billion of payments among the Lehman Debtors and their controlled affiliates (see Exhibit B to the court filing, Docket # 57808, for further detail). Cumulatively through the fifteenth distribution, Lehman’s total distributions to unsecured creditors will amount to approximately $124.6 billion including (1) $92.2 billion of payments on account of third-party claims, which includes non-controlled affiliate claims, and (2) $32.4 billion of payments among the Lehman Debtors and their controlled affiliates.

In accordance with the chapter 11 plan, which was confirmed on December 6, 2011, and subject to available funds, the Lehman Debtors’ sixteenth distribution to creditors is anticipated to be made within 5 business days of September 30, 2018.

Ik werd opgebeld door de bank: er is weer een bod gedaan door een grote partij nu van 10%.

Helaas kan ik ze niet meer op de beurs kopen, want mijn bank blokkeert deze orders.

Weer Scalene met een verhoogd bod.

Hou ze maar lekker vast, want de uitkering kan wel eens enorm hoog worden.

Lehman Brothers trustee offers accelerated final payout for some creditors

Almost 10 years after Lehman Brothers collapsed, the trustee in charge of the defunct Wall Street firm's estate is offering creditors an option to cash out by participating in an accelerated final distribution.

Eligible general unsecured creditors can either: 1) receive a distribution equal to 0.75% of the allowed general unsecured claim and retain the rights to any future distributions the trustee may make; or 2) sell the claim to the sponsor--Deutsche Bank London branch--for a distribution equal to 2.23% of the allowed general unsecured claim (the 0.75% plus an additional payment of 1.48%).

Claimants choosing the second option will no longer own their claim and will not receive future distributions.

The deadline to participate in the accelerated final distribution election is Aug. 16, 2018 and disbursements are expected to occur in the second week of September.

As of March 31, 2018, the trustee reported LBI estate assets at $547M, which are projected to decrease to about $377M after the sixth interim distribution in September.

The final claim still in litigation by a group of claimants relates to over $260M, which the trustee has reserved for at 100% and is included in the estate's assets figure reported above.

LBI is niet hetzelfde als LBHI en ook de genoemde bedragen kloppen niet.
