DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) _ CF Industries Holdings Inc. (CF) on Wednesday reported second-quarter earnings of $3 million.
The Deerfield, Illinois-based company said it had profit of 1 cent per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 10 cents per share.
The results beat Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 8 cents per share.
The fertilizer maker posted revenue of $1.12 billion in the period.
CF shares have decreased nearly 9 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index has increased 11 percent. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $28.72, a climb of 17 percent in the last 12 months.
