Ik heb maar weer eens een gokje gewaagd en ben met 10 k op 2,074 er ingesprongen . Ben benieuwd of ze deze week nog eens naar de 2,11 en/ of hoger gaan. Iedere honderd euro is meegenomen.

Het is buiten al nat genoeg.

Niet hier in noord Italië maar heb aardig wat auto’s gezien met kapotte ramen en deuken - was in de bergen en vannacht was het 3 graden inmiddels bij de meer en 32 graden - beetje verschil!

(Press release Waterford City & County Council:) Waterford, Ireland, 26 July 2023 - A significant milestone was reached in the progress of the Sustainable Transport Bridge this week as BAM’s construction barge ‘Skerchi’ was towed into place to commence piling works for the four bridge pier foundations.

The piers require construction of a cofferdam, a watertight enclosure to allow construction work below the waterline. The cofferdams will be created by driving interlocking piles through the bed of the River Suir to form the watertight enclosures. The water is then pumped out of the cofferdam so the construction of the pier foundations can commence.

Commenting on the operation, Senior Engineer with Waterford City and County Council, Sean Dobbs said: ‘Accuracy is a critical factor in the pile driving process. To achieve such precision, site engineers are surveying precise positions and are in constant radio contact with the bargemaster. Temporary ‘spud’ piles will be initially driven, and a guide frame attached to guide the driving of permanent piles. Once the permanent piles have been driven, the temporary ‘spud’ piles are removed, the barge is realigned, and the process repeats until the cofferdam is complete.’

The ‘Skerchi’ is currently anchored on the south side of the river to create a stable working platform, as a 250 tonne crane drives steel piles into the riverbed. The barge will then be towed by tugboat to the north side of the river to create the cofferdams for the two piers on the north side. This will allow river navigation to continue along the central navigation channel.

The Sustainable Transport Bridge will connect the North Quays to heart of the city centre, providing access for pedestrians, bicycles, and a courtesy bus service.

The Waterford North Quays Project received approval for investment of €170.6 million from the Government (URDF providing investment of €100.6 million and the NTA providing investment of €70 million) in November 2022. The transformative project will create a sustainable modern mixed-use development that will harness and extend Waterford’s city centre, whilst reinstating the primacy of the river by creating a compact and vibrant core centred on the River Suir.

The Eastern Green Link 2 project will see the longest HVDC cable in the UK and is the UK’s single largest electricity transmission project ever.

When complete it will provide enough electricity to power 2m UK homes.

BAM will work in collaboration with Hitachi Energy to provide the engineering works and technology for the HVDC converter stations. These form the terminals for the HVDC cable and convert direct current to the alternating current used in the onshore transmission network.

It is understood the project could be worth up to £700m for BAM.

Following final approval from Ofgem, work is expected to commence in 2024 with a targeted operational date of 2029.

Heel optimistisch haha, er liggen anders stevige verkoopomzet op 2,10 en 2,11. Enfin laten we dan morgen maar eerst eens Heijmans afwachten.

Dank weer voor deze link. Het begint er toch sterk op te lijken, dat BAM-Infra definitief op de goede weg is met dit soort, qua risico's, redelijk goed te overziene klussen. Nergens meer verhalen over ingewikkelde kunstwerken. Kortom, BAM-Infra zou wel eens blijvend kunnen bijdragen aan de winst en dat is in het verleden wel eens anders geweest (understatement!).

Laten we eerst maar eens zien wat Heijmans doet wat morgen zijn daar de cijfers blijkbaar van. Als die goed zijn denk ik dat we zo duidelijk over de 2,10 schieten op weg naar ……
