ik denk dat we de top weer bereikt hebben, er zijn nog steeds geen adviezen die de koers kunnen beïnvloeden.

Ik zie wel een advies van Theodoor Gillissen.....verkopen met koersdoel € 16..... en dat advies geven ze dan op 12 aug jl als Corbion op alle vlakken beter dan verwacht presteert.
Nou ja, is hun goed recht natuurlijk......

Polylactic acid (PLA), which is made from agricultural sugars, is poised to become an important player in packaging and durables markets as sources of supply expand, properties improve, and the economics case becomes more interesting.

“Biotech is changing the name of the game and this is no longer always a pound per pound, penny by penny comparison and decision-making process,” says Steve Davies, Director of Corporate Communication and Public Affairs at NatureWorks, which boosted production capacity of PLA at its Blair, Neb. plant to 150,000 metric tons per year in 2013.

Adoption of bioplastics by American buyers has been slow because they often carry a price premium and possess different performance properties than the materials they are attempting to replace. Most large companies embrace sustainability policies that promote use of materials that reduce the carbon footprint of fossil fuel-based plastics, but only if the materials can compete on price and performance.

The Danish company Lego provides an important example of why PLA figures to be an important player at companies with meaningful sustainability programs.

Lego quietly began research three years ago into developing a bioplastic that could replace ABS in an effort to reduce the carbon footprint of its iconic toy bricks. PLA is durable and can be molded to tight tolerances, but lacks the creep resistance required by Lego. Tests showed that large, complex Lego models made from PLA would start to fall apart after a few weeks. In June, Lego announced that it will spend $146 million to launch its own research center to investigate a sustainable plastic. Polymerized lactic acid is still very much on the table.

NatureWorks and Dutch company Corbion Purac both say that they have made important strides in improving the performance properties of PLA, often using process technology for lactide purification or polymerization developed by Sulzer that offers higher lactide and therefore higher PLA crystallinity.

From a purchasing perspective, the case for PLA is complicated, but is improving.

Initially, the focus at NatureWorks, which essentially created the PLA market when it launched Ingeo in 2003, was on biodegradable packaging applications. That’s still an important market, particularly in China, but less so in the United States where the prices of competing plastics such as polyethylene have dropped in price.

The marketing focus has shifted more to styrenic materials, such as polystyrene and ABS, that do not benefit from shale gas economics. That creates opportunities in packaging and durable applications. Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is also a target. Significant growth is also projected in 3D printing, where PLA and ABS compete.

Na de Q2 cijfers toch weer een dip gehad maar de invloed van China op Corbion is niet erg groot daar een groot deel van de omzet nu uit VS komt. De dollar staat nog steeds goed voor Corbion.

Het inkoopprogramma is nog steeds niet afgerond. Vorige week zijn er weer 43.000 aandelen ingekocht. Het inkoopprogramma staat nu op 89.4% voltooid.

De koers herstelt vandaag supergoed!!

Heb vandaag weer bijgekocht. Eerst de kat uit de boom gekeken maandag en gisteren en vond het vandaag wel weer een goed moment om in te stappen.

De dollar ontwikkeld zich vandaag erg goed voor Corbion. Bijna 1,5% eraf voor de euro is gunstig!!!

Vandaag een paar forse stappen terug. Wel bijzonder hoe Corbion dan zo contrair beweegt vandaag tov AEX, niet echt een aanleiding voor.

Opvallend 2 grote transacties van 100.000 stuks per keer, rond 14 uur en 14.45 uur. Geen grote mutaties in de koers na deze transacties. Zullen wel belangen van de ene partij naar de andere overgegaan zijn.

Rabobank: overnamegolf in food houdt aan

De voedingsmiddelenindustrie krijgt ook de komende tijd te maken met een voortdurende golf van overnames en acquisities. Corbion, Lucas Bols, Wessanen en Acomo zijn potentiële overnamekandidaten. Dat stelt Rabobank in een nieuw rapport.

Forse concurrentie en beperkte mogelijkheden voor autonome groei zorgen voor consolidatie. Enkele bedrijven uit de Verenigde Staten kunnen toeslaan zolang de eurokoers nog gunstig is. Beleggers moeten hier rekening mee houden, aldus Rabobank.

Analisten van de bank hebben van alle Nederlandse beursgenoteerde bedrijven in de voedingssector bekeken hoe hun positie is, meldt de Telegraaf.
Nog niet gestild

Ze staan er bijna stuk voor stuk goed tot redelijk voor, stellen de analisten. De balansen zijn op orde, de rente is laag en bedrijven zoeken groei. Bovendien is de honger van investeringsfondsen en private equity volgens hen nog niet gestild.
Corbion, Wessanen

Vier bedrijven staan in meer of mindere mate genoteerd als mogelijke overnamekandidaten. Het gaat om Corbion (melkzuur), Lucas Bols (gedistilleerd), Wessanen (biologische voeding) en Acomo (noten en zaden).
Unilever, AB Inbev

Unilever en de Belgische brouwer AB Inbev staan juist vooraan in de rij om acquisities te doen, net als frisdrankenproducent Refresco Gerber. Ahold en ForFarmers hebben eveneens goede groeikansen.

Als ik naar een amerikaans bedrijf kijk denk ik dat Corbion wel goed past bij Dawn Food products. Het bedrijf is met 1,4 Mld een stuk groter dan Corbion maar niet mega. Dit maakt mss een fusie eerder voor de hand liggend maar overname is ook niet uitgesloten.

Voor een grote overname zou ik meer denken aan Kraft Food / Heinz uit de de VS. Hebben al een productgroep bakkery maar is onderdeel waar ze in kunnen versterken.

Vorige week zijn er weer 75.000 aandelen ingekocht door Corbion. Met de huidige koers nog ruimte voor ca. 196.000 aandelen, dus nog 2-4 weken worden aandelen ingekocht en dan wordt het inkoopprogramma afgerond.

Corbion and Perstorp jointly announce a breakthrough innovation for adhesives. Resulting from a partnership agreement signed in 2011, a new lactide (PURALACT® B3) caprolactone co-polymer (Capa™) has been developed that delivers superior benefits in hot melt adhesive applications. The two companies are market leaders in their respective fields of lactides (Corbion) and caprolactones (Perstorp). The new material is expected to be the first in a series of innovations for the adhesive industry resulting from this partnership.

The new product has a renewable content exceeding 80% and is fully compostable - enabling adhesives manufacturers to meet the growing demand for more sustainable products and addressing growing food safety concerns related to food packaging. Equally important, the new material delivers no compromise on performance and allows formulators to remain competitive.

“This new material represents the culmination of two years’ joint development work with Perstorp. It will create a strong technology platform for the development of polymers which provide a genuine alternative to traditional technologies for the adhesive industry. It also brings a huge potential for CASE (coatings, adhesives, sealants and elastomers) markets in general” said Marco Bootz, Corbion’s Senior Vice President Biochemicals.

“Through this partnership, we supply adhesives manufacturers with a competitive advantage by providing safe, innovative technologies that deliver high performance with a reduced environmental footprint,” said Håkan Björnberg, Vice President Innovation at Perstorp. “We expect this innovation to be the first of many.”

The new product is expected to be commercially available in the fourth quarter 2015.
