    In China, fears of an EV financial crisis amid pricing war grow

    At a used car market in Beijing, salesman Ma Hui said he fears China’s electric vehicle industry is in a race to the bottom.

    EV makers, led by the country’s market leader, BYD, have been engaged in a bruising price war, depressing profits for the brands, as well as sellers such as Ma.

    “All of us were losing money last year,” Ma said about his fellow used car sellers in the market. “There are too many companies making too many new energy cars.”

    Nu is het wel zo dat BYD ongeveer 40% van z'n modellen puur EV is, de rest is hybride. Volledig verbrandingsmotor verkopen ze niet meer. Wat een verschil met hoe de US de toekomst ziet.

    Ik zag nog wel een ander positief bericht voor Nio omtrent veiligheid. Nio haalt de strengste Europese normen, dus onderstaande kan ook een voordeel zijn voor Nio.

    Misschien eens tijd om een draadje Xpeng te openen, maar ik weet een aantal forumleden hier ook in Xpeng zitten.
    Xpeng trekt aardig bij vandaag.

    Tesla's sales in Germany down 58% in H1 2025

    Tesla Inc. sold 8,890 new vehicles in Germany in the first half of the year, plunging 58.2% on a yearly basis, according to a report by the Federal Motor Transport Authority published on Thursday. In June, Tesla's sales amounted to 1,860 vehicles, or 60% less than in the same month last year.

    Xpeng and Lynk & Co. recorded the biggest rise in sales from the first half of last year at 3,335.5% and 1,112.5% respectively. In total, 1,402,789 new vehicles were registered in Germany in the first half of the year, 4.7% less than during the same period in 2024.

    Ik zit best groot in Xpeng met een gak van 10,75 usd.
    In Nio bijna 10 keer groter, met een gak van 5,54 usd.

    Voor het moment zou ik het liever andersom zien, toch heb ik meer geloof in Nio. Met het uitdijend battery swap model dat door de overheid wordt gesimuleerd, de eigen chip, de differentiatie in modellen. Nu nog eens break even gaan draaien...

    Xpeng slaat wel prima aan en dat is mooi.

    Er zit absoluut veel risico. Met een steunende Chinese overheid en grootaandeelhouder CYVN (20% van de aandelen) uit de VAE verwacht ik dat het zal slagen.
