Nel ASA: Status update #4 regarding incident at Kjørbo

(Oslo, June 17, 2019) Nel ASA (Nel, OSE:NEL) announces new findings from safety consultancy Gexcon regarding the incident at the Kjørbo hydrogen station on June 10, 2019.

The preliminary Gexcon investigation shows that the incident started with a hydrogen leakage from the high-pressure storage unit and that a ‘cloud’ of hydrogen ignited. The investigations continue in order to identify the root cause of the leak as well as the source of the ignition.

“Based on further investigations, we can say with certainty that the leak started in the high-pressure storage unit, and we are now carrying out investigations to understand the detailed mechanisms of the leakage as well as what caused the ignition,” says Geirmund Vislie, Vice President Consulting of Gexcon.

Together with the authorities, Nel and Gexcon are conducting an off-site examination of the high-pressure storage unit, which comprises of both tanks and components from third-party suppliers and various components designed by Nel. Various tests and analysis have been initiated and will continue until the parties have a clear understanding of exactly where and how the leak started. Further investigations and data simulations will also look into the source of the ignition.

The low-pressure steel and composite storages were neither the source of the leak, nor the source of the ignition. No tanks ruptured in the incident.

“We can now conclude that Nel’s core technologies were not the source of the leakage. However, we are still searching for what ignited the hydrogen. We are grateful for all the parties that are working hard day and night to uncover the root cause of the incident, and are happy to see that good progress is being made,” says Jon André Løkke, CEO of Nel.

Nel has published a dedicated status update and Q&A site to address the incident at the Kjørbo hydrogen station. The site can be accessed on www.nelhydrogen.com, and will updated as new information becomes available.

We zijn dankbaar voor alle partijen die dag en nacht hard werken om de oorzaak van het incident te achterhalen en zijn blij dat er goede vooruitgang is geboekt"

Dit is dus voor NEL goed nieuws, dus het is nu echt wachten dat koers straks flink gaat oplopen

Is dat een probleem?

Iedereen is besmet, Boeing, JP Morgan, enz….
en elke mens bevat meer bacteriën als menselijke cellen,
niemand kan zonder zulke besmettingen overleven... :) :)

NEL... blijft tot nu toe goed communiceren. Als dit "probleem" zichtbaar" is gemaakt kan het aandeel weer de hoogte in. Er staan gewoon veel mooie producten en projecten op stapel bij deze Noorse Waterstof hut. Daarnaast is er NEL alles aan gelegen dit heel goed op te lossen. Uiteindelijk krijgen ze een beter product. Ben ook benieuwd waneer de eerste status update van het bussen project Londen komt....

Wat positief nieuws zou fijn zijn. Bv. een nieuwe klant of een nieuw project. Goed voor het vertrouwen van alles en iedereen.

Vervelend om te zien dat de koers wordt gemanipuleerd; zie af en toe een bied die hoger is dan de laat, zijn steeds aardige plukjes aandelen.

Nu gewoon geduld hebben en de ontwikkelingen rustig afwachten. Tussen de 5 en 6 NOK lijken mij nog mooie koop niveau's. Ik zit er vanaf begin januari in. Voor mij een stevig LT aandeel.

Eens. Het zit allemaal nog in de beginfase. Als je geen geduld hebt of twijfelt. Gewoon verkopen zou ik zeggen, en ik zou dan enkel verkopen zonder verlies, maar goed dat ben ik.

Ik. Waterstof staat nog helemaal aan het begin maar er zijn voldoende artikelen te vinden over de richting die we op gaan in de toekomst (zie ook het Waterstof topic).
Indien je op korte termijn extreme resultaten verwacht dan zit je bij NEL misschien niet goed. Voor de LT zit je hier - in mijn ogen - goed.

het is wel opmerkelijk dat de afgelopen langere termijn koers een mooie stijgende lijn is, een kleine sprint maakt en nu enorm duikelt.

Current status
The investigation into the root cause of the leak and ignition is ongoing and progressing well. The process has solidified the preliminary conclusions given in previous updates.

When further material and verified information is available, Nel will provide a new update. We anticipate this happening within the next week or so. Assuming the root cause is identified and confirmed, Nel intends to hold a press and investor conference to share all relevant information publicly.

We will continue to assist our customers in getting stations safely back into operation as quickly as possible.

Going forward, Nel will share all findings with the hydrogen industry and other stakeholders.

Als je publiekelijk nieuws naar buiten brengt, moet je ergens wel zeker van je zaak zijn. Ben benieuwd wat er in het persbericht allemaal naar buiten. Het is ook een buitenkans het bedrijf en haar verdere koersdoelen te promoten. Alle ogen zijn in ieder geval gericht op de organisatie.

NEL.. ik zeg nog steeds... zie NEL als een LT aandeel en koop op dit niveau.
