Trump zet weer druk op Fed

(ABM FN-Dow Jones) De Amerikaanse president Donald Trump vindt de rente in de VS te hoog en verwacht dat China "uiteindelijk" een handelsdeal zal sluiten met Amerika. Dit bleek uit een telefonisch interview van Trump op Fox Business.

Trump verwacht zijn Chinese evenknie Xi Jinping aan het einde van de maand te ontmoeten tijdens de G20-top in Japan, zo zei hij. Maar als hij niet komt, zo voegde de Amerikaanse president toe, is het ook goed.

De Federal Reserve komt volgende week weer bijeen voor een rentebesluit

For days, President Trump has denied a New York Times report that his internal polling data showed him in deep trouble in key states in 2020, claiming that the Times simply made up the numbers.

It didn’t. He made up the denial. And it appears he’s in as bad a shape as the Times said he was.

ABC News has obtained the polling data, which show as bleak a picture for Trump as the Times has indicated. Trump trails Joe Biden by 16 points in Pennsylvania, 10 points in Wisconsin and 7 points in Florida, and he leads by just 2 points in red Texas. These numbers largely echo the limited public polling we’ve been seeing on the 2020 general election, which is also brutal for Trump and which he also claims is bogus.

The numbers are remarkable. But just as remarkable is what the Trump campaign is saying about them.

First, it’s important to note that, after days of Trump denying the numbers were real -- “They reported Fake numbers that they made up & don’t even exist,” he said -- his campaign confirms they are. Campaign manager Brad Parscale told ABC News that the numbers are indeed legitimate, but that they are old -- from March.

The fact that Trump falsely denied this data existed is important to emphasize -- even for a president for whom these false denials have become so commonplace.

But perhaps the bigger takeaway from Parscale’s comment is this: They know how bad Trump’s numbers are, and to pump them up, they are apparently relying upon something called an “informed ballot.”

Here’s what Parscale told ABC: "Since [March], we have seen huge swings in the president’s favor across the 17 states we have polled, based on the policies now espoused by the Democrats. For example, the plan to provide free health care to illegal immigrants results in an 18-point swing toward President Trump.”

To the layperson, that looks like he’s saying there has indeed been movement in Trump’s direction. But if you look closer, it seems as though he’s not just talking about straight head-to-head matchups; he’s talking about polls that rely upon respondents being primed with certain issues.

For example, pollsters will often test how their issues perform by taking an initial head-to-head and then informing the respondent of their candidate’s or their opponents’ positions on something. “What if we told you these Democrats are all socialists who want to ban hamburgers and open the borders to every member of MS-13?” or something like that. That’s what Parscale is referring to when he says “the plan to provide free health care to illegal immigrants results in an 18-point swing toward President Trump.”

Trump campaign spokesman Tim Murtaugh on Thursday also seemed to indicate the campaign’s claims of good polling numbers were based upon these kinds of informed ballots.

Again, this seems to suggest Trump leads only when respondents are primed after the polls “tested issues Dems are running on.” There is no way that Trump, with around a 40 percent approval rating, leads in every state tested without manipulating the matchup in some way.

I asked the Trump campaign to confirm or deny they are referring to informed ballots. It has declined to comment further.

Why does this matter? For one, I’ve long said that if you’re talking about the informed ballot, you’re losing. If the campaign needs to resort to these numbers, that says a lot.

And second, we don’t know what kind of issue descriptions there are. Sometimes these informed ballots are done for legitimate reasons; sometimes they are hugely slanted statements like the one above intended to goose the polls and make them as rosy for the candidate as possible.

In either case, they quite simply can’t be relied upon. And the fact that the Trump team is apparently playing them up suggests the situation is as bad as the Times -- and the public polling -- suggested.

US Mexico deal over migranten probleem.

Trump komt met veel ophef aankondigen : Als Mexico niets doet dan komt er per 10 juni een 5% heffing

7 juni 2019 : Trump en Mexico hebben een overeenkomst bereikt en komen met een

US-Mexico Joint Declaration.

Op een A4 formaat een verklaring dat beiden landen overeengekomen zijn het probleem op te lossen.

Een heel verhaal maar er staat niets concreets in over afspraken met betrekking tot de uitvoering.

14 juni 2019 : Mexico geeft het supplement vrij bij de declaratie behorend.

Op A4 formaat verklaren beide landen hun best te doen voor het vluchtelingen probleem.

Totaal geen concrete afspraken.

Van begin tot einde een groot gebakken lucht verhaal.
Trump begon met bluffen over 5% tarief. Kort voor de deadline van 10 juni begreep hij dat Mexico niet toegaf. Een 5% belastingverhoging voor de Amerikanen durfde hij niet door te voeren.
Vervolgens het bluf verhaal dat Mexico toegegeven had.
Maar uit de overeenkomst en het supplement blijkt dat er helemaal niets is afgesproken.

De eerste twee tweets onder het supplement verwoorden dit het best :

Dit klinkt als een duidelijke waarschuwing aan Putin om te stoppen met digitale aanvallen en/of dreigingen op de Amerikaanse infrastructuur, door in de US computer netwerken van gas- elektriciteit en water bedrijven.

De US is in staat het gehele netwerk van Rusland plat te leggen.

De taal wordt serieuzer en dreigender.

Er is geen enkele reden Trump te bekritiseren.

Amerikanen en Canadezen hebben ons bevrijd en ik ben ze daar nog steeds dankbaar voor.

Wij woonden in Rotterdam West en onze buitendeur stond door een bombardement halverwege de gang. Het was een geweldige knal. Zulke dingen vergeet je niet.In de hongerwinter moest mijn vader met veel moeite voedsel vergaren.

Toen de bevrijding kwam en de Canadezen en Amerikanen ons bevrijden waren we verlost van de overheersing door de moffen.

Dat is een geschiedenis die ons onderwijs zou moeten domineren.Trots voor de overwinning en trots voor ons land. Wie dat niet respecteert moet snel wegwezen en is niet langer welkom wat mij betreft.

Trump heeft vrijdag een Executive Order ondertekend.

Per 30 september moet minimaal 1/3 van de advies commissies verdwijnen.
Er zijn ca 1000 advies commissies met experts die de Federal Agencies adviseren aangaande pollution,public health, spending and planning.

Om belangrijke beleidsbeslissingen te nemen kunnen de Federal Agencies wel zonder externe experts, volgens Trump.
