Euro Sun Mining Inc. [ESM-TSX; CPNFF-OTC] has amended its portion of the $1.5 billion joint proposal with Lundin Mining Corp. [LUN-TSX; LUMI-Sweden] for the acquisition of Nevsun Resources Ltd. [NSU-TSX; NYSE AMERICAN] to 50% cash and 50% stock.

The proposed offer now comprises $5 per share for Nevsun’s entire stock and includes $150 million in cash from Euro Sun and $600 million in cash from Lundin along with $150 million worth of Euro Sun shares and $600 million in Lundin shares.

Nevsun extends life of Bisha mine in Eritrea through 2022

Nevsun Resources (NSU -0.1%) says it will extend the life of its Bisha zinc and copper mine in Eritrea to the end of 2022, 18 months later than the planned end of operations announced last year.

NSU says the open-pit extension will add 3.3M metric tons of high-grade ore to the mill, resulting in additional payable production of 470M lbs. of zinc and 52M lbs. of copper, and provides time to advance assessment of the Asheli and Harena underground deposits at Bisha and to consider further open-pit extensions.

NSU owns 60% of Bisha, while the other 40% is held by companies run by the Eritrean government.

Ik vind dat Timok flink wordt ondergewaardeerd in het bod van Euro/lundin.
Slaat nergens op voor zo'n mooie deposit en dan ook nog in het relatief veilige Servie.

Ik verwacht nog wel hoger bod van Lundin of iemand anders.

Op grond van de informate die NSU zelf niet xo lang geleden naar buiten bracht (zeer beperkte life of mine voor zowel zink als koper & zeer slechte koperrecovery) zou dat betekenen dat je die informatie negeerde en een andere mening had. Dat kan, maar is meestal een recept voor slechte investeringsbeslissingen:
Een mening hebben is toch iets anders dan iets weten.

Either way, het lijkt erop dat NSU verstoppertje heeft gespeeld met Lundin en nu een omgekeerde policy voert om de waardeperceptie en daarmee de biedingen op te voeren. Niet slecht voor de aandeelhouder...

Hopelijk is een eventueel nieuw bod minimaal 6 cad. Met zicht op de lower zone kan dat zomaar nog eens hoger worden.

This is clearly a story to be continued. In the meantime, Nevsun is good value at the current price level, notwithstanding that the stock could fall back in the near term if it became clear that no offer would be forthcoming.
